Like the UK chemical regulation, we need similar regulation and enforcement. It is very important to regulate the chemical residues and active substances before it hit the market. Education is important, labeling is also important but often general public, like the guy from India, just doesn't want to take their physical wellness into account. People are often bombarded with so many other life struggles and issues that they often overlook harmful things, even knowing full well their risk. So, it would be vital to regulate and enforce what active chemical substance can be on the market for public to use.

Hi Tenny,
ReplyDeleteYou accidentally posted under my blog. No worries. I completely agree that there needs to be more regulation and enforcement. I believe that the government has a responsibility to protect the people, but we also need to educate ourselves because there are a number of examples where the government didn't have the people's best interest at heart.
Hi Tenny,
ReplyDeleteThe farmer from India is good example of why more regulation is needed. People are often just trying to survive and make a living or buy enough food that alternatives are not an option. The government needs to do a better job at making it something that people do have to choose from in order to grow/eat healthy foods.
